Avnet Inc, Great Neck, New York has signed a non-binding letter of intent to acquire Inter Rep SpA and Dis El SpA, Italian electronic components distributors, on undisclosed terms: the companies had 1991 sales of a combined $34m, and have headquarters in Turin and sales offices in the major regions.
