Now that Aventail Corp as joined the OpenXchange Partner Program of Xcert International Inc, its enterprise extranet software will interoperate with Xcert’s public key infrastructure (PKI) suite. The agreement illustrates the growing importance of PKI to the e- commerce market. Digital certificates are gaining ground as the preferred method for strong and flexible user authentication outside the corporate firewall, explained Aventail CEO Evan Kaplan.
