Avaya one-X Mobile is a server software product that supports Avaya Communication Manager and Modular Messaging software in addition to CallManager and Unity messaging.

One-X Mobile solution unites enterprise and mobile networks enabling them to work together. This solution converts mobile devices from RIM, Palm, Motorola, LG, Nokia, Samsung, Sanyo, Sony Ericsson into another endpoint on the corporate network.

In addition, the solution provides access to Microsoft Active Directory and LDAP directories. It also enables access through Avaya clients, web portals, Microsoft Office communicator or IBM Lotus simultaneously. It is available as part of the Avaya’s Unified Communications Standard Edition.

One-X Mobile routes business calls through the company’s network and Avaya claims that it will help enterprises improve employee responsiveness to customers, worker productivity and business continuity while reducing mobile calling costs and supporting compliance requirements. Employees will also be accessible to customers and colleagues through a single number. Companies will have a single source for call records, for both incoming and out going calls. Further, users can divert their calls to up to five designated endpoints.

This solution also helps employees with visual view voice messages feature, search the corporate directory, eliminate the need for a mobile mailbox, and switch from the mobile device to desk phone in mid-call.

Avaya plans to launch one-X Mobile solution for iPhone in North America by early 2008.
