Avant! Corp, the chip design software company locked in a legal battle with arch rival Cadence Design Systems Inc (CI No 3,338), is having a shift around with its management structure. John Huyett, the company’s head of finance has jumped ship to take up the position of chief financial officer at privately-held satellite com-munications operation Magellan Systems Corp. Former Pacific Bell employee Linda Chinn will assume the vacant position. Avant! recently reported year end net income down 47.6% to $6.5m on revenue that rose 38.9% to $147.3m (CI No 3,330).
