AvaLAN launches new 5Mbps wireless ethernet bridge

Comes with 20 non-overlapping RF channels for machine to machine communications

By CBR Staff Writer

AvaLAN Wireless Systems has launched a new AW5800HTP-PAIR long range 5 Mbps industrial outdoor wireless ethernet bridge designed for machine to machine communications.

The company said that the new offering from AvaLAN combines throughput of up to 5Mbps and radio power of 100 Watts Effective Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP), suited for wireless connections to IP-based megapixel surveillance cameras.

According to AvaLAN, the ethernet bride is an outdoor wireless product with 20 independent non-overlapping RF channels. It delivers a line-of-sight connection up to 15 miles without sacrificing bandwidth, security or performance, the company claims.

The company said that AvaLAN products are replacements for installations where WiFi systems are under-performing or failing due to insufficient range, excessive interference or unsatisfactory reliability.
