The pair said they would create a joint task force providing end-to-end professional IT services for Autonomy customers worldwide.

Autonomy offers a revolutionary and proven solution to the challenge of unstructured information management, said Vivek Bhasin, VP of e-business & data warehousing at Wipro.

Under the partnership agreement, Wipro has established an Autonomy Center of Excellence in Bangalore, India, enabling accelerated research and delivery of Autonomy-based offerings.

Autonomy and Wipro are already jointly working on knowledge management and compliance offerings (primarily targeted around legal, finance and security) for various domains. They also recently announced what they described as a high value deal with GlaxoSmithKline, the pharmaceutical and healthcare company, to power an enterprise platform with over 120,000 users that processes 200 terabytes of data.

Development of further offerings, both vertical specific and horizontal, will be accelerated by the global partnership, the companies said, while they added that they are working to rapidly expand their joint customer base.

Mike Lynch, CEO of Autonomy said: Wipro brings in extensive experience and deep insight to the design and deployment of strategic technology implementations. We are excited to work with Wipro to extend their expertise in providing services to Autonomy’s customers globally.
