Autonomy’s IDOL is a server-based infrastructure foundation for processing structured and unstructured data. The software layers across corporate data sources and extracts meaning from information using statistical Bayesian inference techniques.

Separately, Cambridge-based Autonomy also announced that it has signed a major deal with publishing firm McGraw Hill to embed IDOL into its information services offerings.

McGraw Hill provides financial, education and business information services to companies like Standard & Poor’s, BusinessWeek and JD Power and Associates.
