Autonomy Corp Plc, the Cambridge, UK and San Francisco, California- based software developer, is continuing to experience excellent growth in its core markets, with strong demand for its pattern recognition code to be embedded within the products of other software developers.

In the third quarter to September 30, it made a net loss of 708,179 pounds ($1.1m), up from a loss of 429,161 pounds ($695,240) in the same quarter last year, on revenue that increased 174.2% to 4.7m pounds ($7.6m). For the first nine months, the loss was 509,198 pounds ($824,900), down from a loss of 1.2m pounds ($1.9m) in the same period in 1998, on revenue up 211.2% at 10.9m pounds ($17.6m).

The company says that there are excellent opportunities through its new European sales network to increase its penetration across the continent.
