Automotive supplier Schlemmer signs $2m contract for IFS software

Tier 2 automotive supplier Schlemmer will implement business software from Swedish IT firm IFS Applications in Germany and 15 other international locations in a deal worth $2m.

By CBR Staff Writer

Schlemmer, a provider of cable protection systems, air and fluid and mechatronic systems for the automotive industry, intends to use the technology to plan and control its global business using a single management system. It also aims to automate significant parts of its supply chain management with IFS’ automotive supply chain components, in an effort to better meet market requirements and delivery deadlines.

The software rollout is scheduled for March, beginning with the design phase and then extending to Morocco with the logistics, manufacturing and accounting components. In Germany, IFS Applications will be rolled out gradually, starting with accounting and workforce management components. The remaining implementation projects will follow a year later.
