AUTODESK READIES AUTOCAD 2000 FOR MAY LAUNCH

Autodesk Inc is expected to announce the latest release of AutoCad next week, and ship the new version by the end of April. Chief technology officer Carl Bass is set to launch the product on Tuesday. AutoCad 2000 is the successor to the current version 14 of the PC CAD package. AutoCAD has sold over 2m copies of the package, which is now 17 years old.
