Autodesk Inc, San Raphael, California, has had to advise the Securities & Exchange Commission that an unnamed third party has matched its $15-a-share bid made in December for Softdesk Inc – and is offering it in cash. No hints were offered for the identity of the third party but Parametric Technology Corp was widely mentioned in December as being the most likely to make a rival offer.
