Autodesk Inc and Softdesk Inc announced Monday that their long and drawn-out merger is finally complete, effective March 31, 1997. Under the final terms of the agreement, Autodesk will issue 0.477 shares of its common stock for each outstanding share of Softdesk common stock. With Monday’s closing price of Autodesk, this works out to about $14.80 for each Softdesk share. Rival bids (CI Nos 3069, 3114) had kept this deal from going through as rapidly as Autodesk would have liked.
