The Australian Broadcasting Corp (ABC) has launched an online news service with access to stories from over 60 television and radio stations in Australia and overseas. ABC News Online was unveiled by Senator Richard Alston, the Federal Minister for Communications. Speaking to the Australian Financial Review, Colin Griffith, head of ABC Multimedia said: We’re trying to establish a relationship with our audience that is equivalent to radio and TV such that they come back every day, ABC’s web site has been in existence for some time – around one million web pages are downloaded from it each week.
