Prins Ralston, chairman of the Australian Computer Society, has been appointed president of the South-East Asian Regional Computer Confederation (SEARCC,) the region’s premier IT forum. His appointment is seen as recognition by industry of Australia’s role in South-East Asian IT affairs. One of Ralston’s early projects will see him lobbying for consistent standards for IT professionals across Asia, with a view to establishing them in the curricula of educational institutions throughout the region.
