The department hopes the implementation will improve the distribution of health information both internally and to the general public.

The move comes in response to a study conducted by the New South Wales Department of Health (NSW Health) which found that 27% of all web users in Australia were using the internet to search for health-related information.

Interwoven’s platform, which is powered by the company’s TeamSite software, will be used to streamline and automate the back-end processes involved in the content creation and distribution to NCW Health’s web site. The aim is to enable staff to maintain their own content and to provide a common, centralized web content management (WCM) service that will help reduce maintenance costs.

Interwoven TeamSite allows us to establish one standard across the statewide health system with regard to Web content maintenance and content authorization processes via an electronic workflow, thereby reducing the reliance upon paper-based systems, explained Greg Weblin, online services manager at NSW Health.
