Granting $1.36m of aid in kind, the Australian government is paying for the Overseas Telecommunications Commission to construct a satellite earthstation in Vientiane, capital of Laos to open up international telephone and facsimile links for the South-East Asian nation: the new earth station is scheduled to come into service next February.
