The US semiconductor book-to-bill ratio in August was flat with the July figure at 1.08, the Semiconductor Industry Association said from San Jose – and the July figure has been revised down from the 1.09 reported last month. August orders on the usual three-month running average, rose 1.3% to $1,610m and shipments were up 0.7% at $1,490m.The Association points out that the August figure is usually down and that the typical late-summer slowdown in activity did not materialise this year. It is the 10th consecutive month the book-to-bill ratio has been above the 1.0 level.
