AudioCodes, a provider of VoIP technologies and voice network products, has launched VoIP Mobile Access Solutions (VMAS), a new family of mobile VoIP offerings that comprises a variety of mobile soft clients and a client management system (CMS) for mobile operating systems and smartphones.
The company said that VMAS Client Management System provides carriers with a client distribution and back-end management system. In addition, VMAS clients support mobile operating systems such as Symbian, Windows Mobile, Apple OS and others.
According to AudioCodes, the VMAS offers a set of applications and services, leveraging next generation mobile and broadband networks. The mobile VoIP offeirngs are designed for applications and services such as roaming, allowing subscribers to initiate voice calls and send SMS text messages over a cellular data and/or WiFi connection.
The Mobile VoIP Clients are stand-alone mobile-phone SIP soft clients, featuring standard and high definition VoIP, and standards-based presence with an intuitive user interface. Clients are based on the latest session initiation protocol standards and utilise the phone’s existing address book’s contacts, allowing users to use stored information with their phone’s standard interface. The Client is interoperable with major SIP softswitches and gateways.

Service providers are looking for new value added services to increase revenues while allowing end users to make low cost calls at significantly improved voice quality.
