Attachmate bridges Unisys databases

Host connectivity vendor Attachmate launched DataBridge 5.0, offering extract, transform and load (ETL) for the Unisys MCP DMSII and non-DMSII databases.

By CBR Staff Writer

DMSII is a proprietary database designed to work on Unisys’ A Series and NX ClearPath platforms.

Attachmate claimed the product replicates data in seconds – extraction and replication are direct and in real-time – without the lag times of other products on the market. No additional files are created, so there is no increase in back-end overhead, according to Attachmate.

The product acts as an ETL solution, taking information from the Unisys machines and making it available to business intelligence, data warehousing or other secondary systems. Production data can be integrated with a relational database such as Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server, or another DMSII database located on a different Unisys host.
