AT&T Corp has withdrawn its bid for a concession to provide long- distance telephone service in Colombia, local daily El Tiempo reported. The newspaper said the company would not compete for one of two concessions to provide national and international long-distance services in the country because the price was too high. Bidding closes on July 1 for companies to compete against the state telephone company. The concession would cost an initial $150m followed by the additional cost of installation and operation.
