AT&T Corp will be one of Telecom Italia’s core group of shareholders when the Italian phone monopoly is privatized next month, Telecoms Minister Antonio Maccanico told La Stampa. Each shareholder in the core group will be allowed to have a maximum stake of 1.5%, rather than 3% as originally planned, said the paper. Other members of the core group will be unveiled at the end of September. Telecom Italia and AT&T signed a strategic partnership agreement earlier this summer.
