AT&T TO LOWER INTERSTATE LONG-DISTANCE PRICES BY $533M A YEAR

AT&T Co plans to lower interstate long-distance prices by $533m a year from April 1: prices for basic long-distance service for both home and business customers, will drop an average 1.6% as a result of reduced fees AT&T pays to local telephone companies for access to customers’ lines – but prices for basic long-distance on interstate calls under 292 miles will rise an average 4.7%, to bring the prices more in line with costs, AT&T said.
