AT&T TO LOSE 600 FINANCE STAFF

By CBR Staff Writer

With 27,400 fewer people on the payroll, AT&T Co won’t be needing so many payroll clerks and accountants, and of the 27,400, 600 will fall into this category, but the company hopes to lose them by attrition: it is concentrating its financial operations in Orlando, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia, and closing centres in White Plains, New York; Morristown, New Jersey; Chicago, Illinois; Ballwin, Missouri; and San Francisco, California.
