AT&T TO EXPAND WORLDNET ACCESS 30% BY YEAR-END

AT&T Corp says that another 8.3 million people will be able to reach the internet through the company’s WorldNet service with a toll-free local call by year-end. The company will increase the reach of its service, with the addition of 75 points of presence (POPs) by the end of the year. The additional access points will give WorldNet a total of 330 POPs. AT&T claims that it currently has the largest direct internet service in the US, with nearly one million subscribers currently dialing in through it 255 POPs.
