AT&T SEEKS RAPPROCHEMENT WITH OPEN SOFTWARE FOUNDATION

AT&T yesterday confirmed it has opened talks with the Open Software Foundation aimed at resolving the schism in the Unix world. It said at the opening of Uniforum/DC in Washington that it was in discussion with the Open Software Foundation to reach some sort of accord. We would be remiss in our responsibilities to the industry if we did not actively work with OSF to achieve a single standard. The Foundation saw the talks as discussions best described as explorations.
