AT&T SCRAMBLES AFTER MCI CUTS OFF IBM

When IBM Corp told MCI Communications Corp that it had decided to go with AT&T Corp instead, the incumbent provider began cutting off service to IBM’s Global Network before the old contract had expired, the Wall Street Journal reported. AT&T had to scramble to keep IBM online, marshalling 1,000 employees over a weekend to provide service.
