The name of AT&T Corp’s new president and heir apparent to the top job could become known this week, the Wall Street Journal reports. James Barksdale and former Motorola Inc chief George Fisher have ruled themselves out, the shortlist is said to be down to three. Four names are still being mentioned – former IBM Europe president C Michael Armstrong, William Esry, chairman of Sprint Corp Donald Carty, president of American Airlines parent AMR Corp, and James McInerney, head of the lighting business at General Electric Co Inc, Stamford.
