Reporting results for the phone company alone for the first time, AT&T Corp said communications services revenue – both wireline and wireless – increased $655m or 5.5% from the year-ago quarter. Long distance calling volumes grew 7.7% over the same period in 1995. Wireless services revenues, which include cellular speech and data messaging and air-to-ground services, grew nearly 22% to $794m with total cellular service subscribers growing to 5.86m, up 32% on the year ago figure.
