AT&T Corp has teamed up with CheckFree Corp to offer the company’s electronic bill-paying service through AT&T CheckFreer Services on a personal computer with a modem, and CheckFree will also be available for the first time on a television screen as part of the AT&T HomeCenter System in late summer. The service is one of several new offerings for residential subscribers in the US. A new AT&T Computer Telephone will be available in late summer, which connects directly to a personal computer and provides call-management features and two-line, speakerphone capability. AT&T long-distance customers will receive a 10% discount off the $200 when the phone is purchased through membership in AT&T’s Home Business Resources. An enhanced paging service is also planned for late summer.
