AT&T Co has announced that it is to offer a multi-lingual speech processing system, sourced from Comverse Technology Inc, to customers and telecommunications service providers worldwide: the Ovation system will be marketed alongside AT&T’s Audix system, and initially, will be available in 13 languages; it incorporates an integrated facsimile capability, and can be networked with other speech messaging systems which also conform to the Audio Message Interchange Specification standard; a four-port system costs $26,000, rising to $331,200 for a 48-port configuration that is capable of supporting 3,500 users.
