In a day heavily overloaded with announcements, NeXT Computer Inc was due to launch a $5,000 configuration of the original NeXT Computer System and a high-end Motorola 68040-based model with colour disscreen but details had not arrived by close of play. Stardent Computer Inc was likewise due to announce low-end models. AT&T Co made a string of multiprocessing Unix announcements and NCR Corp duly launched its Series 3000 Intel-with-everything revolution. Details of both of these are in the back page.
