AT&T “MAY BID FOR ATLANTIC ASSETS”

By CBR Staff Writer

AT&T Co has made no secret of its desire to expand in the computer leasing business, and the Mail on Sunday suggests that its AT&T Systems Leasing arm is interested in getting into the European market by buying the remaining assets of bankrupt Atlantic Computers Plc from the administrators. The paper says AT&T has asked for more information on the European and US leasing companies, including a comprehensive list of its liabilities. AT&T’s Istel arm has already bought two Atlantic firms, Computer Systems Development and CSD UK Ltd from the administrators (CI No 1,426).
