AT&T IS PLANNING TO HOLD AN END-OF-AN-ERA UNIX PARTY AT UNIFORUM

By CBR Staff Writer

That pleased to be shot of Unix at least, huh? AT&T Co plans to throw a party to end all parties at UniForum next month. It will be a way to acknowledge the end of an era as well as to pay tribute to the people that contributed to Unix over the last 20 years. Hundreds of chief executives and senior Unix executives from all the Unix operating system licensees, and from significant end-user sites are expected at the invitation-only affair. The place will be a veritable Who’s Who of the Unix world. It should be the one drop-dead see-and-be-seen height-of-the-season function you’d run your grandmother over to go to. It’s currently scheduled for St Patrick’s Day when even pure-bred Native Americans and so-called People of Colour suddenly discover they had an Irish granny all the time.
