AT&T Co, Dacom and Korea Telecom of South Korea, and Kokusai Denshin Denwa Co Ltd of Japan have signed a memorandum of understanding to plan construction of an undersea fibre optic system linking Korea, Japan and Guam: the cable will be the second of its kind to Korea, with four times the capacity of the present HJK cable system that links Korea to its Pacific Rim neighbours and the US; the KJG system, planned to start service in 1995, will have 80,000 concurrent call capacity.
