AT&T HAS YAHOO-BRANDED ISP SERVICE AT LAST

By CBR Staff Writer

As expected, AT&T Corp and Yahoo! Inc have inked an agreement to launch an Yahoo-branded version of AT&T WorldNet internet access service (09/16/98). Yahoo had a similar deal with MCI Communications Corp, which was terminated last week with the closing of the deal that sold MCI’s internet business to Cable & Wireless Plc. In the space of five days in May, AT&T signed similar deals with Excite Inc, Infoseek Inc and Lycos Inc, after being beaten to Yahoo by MCI. The new service will be available within 30 days and it will cost $15 per month for 150 hours for the first six months and AT&T long distance customers will stay at that rate for a further six months.
