AT&T Corp will offer a new product, AT&T Digital PCS in 40 major markets, which combines speech, messaging and paging communications in a single telephone. It will be available to 70 million potential customers initially and expanded to more than 212 million more. The combination system reduces the number of required batteries and charging systems for the equipment. Customers will pay a flat rate in the US of $0.60 per minute for roaming calls made from outside the customer ‘s home, or local, calling area. The company said it will offer a range of service packages starting from around $25 per month.
