AT&T GOES TO ALLIANT FOR BASIS OF ITS KORBX SYSTEM

The hardware for AT&T Co’s new $9m Korbx system designed to solve the so-called Travelling Salesman Problem (CI No 994) is coming from Alliant Computer Systems, Littleton, Massachusetts – and AT&T clearly reckons that it is adding a great deal of value because the eight-processor FX80 configuration on which the Korbx system is based, costs less than $2m, says Alliant.
