Incomplete figures from AT&T Co show six-month profits up 16.2% at $1,540m or $1.40 a share after a $140m gain from sale of its Sun Microsystems Inc shares, and $43m for sale of those stakes in Unix System Laboratories Inc, plus $400m credit against reserves, offset by $390m for restructuring, on turnover that rose 4.3% to $18,717m; total 1991 pre-tax restructuring charges including costs of acquiring NCR Corp could hit $4,000m.
