AT&T CO HAS ANNOUNCED A FREE ONE-WAY FACSIMILE CONNECTION FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF US MILITARY INVOLVED IN DESERT SHIELD

By CBR Staff Writer

Following in US Sprint’s footsteps with its free emergency phone calls home for American servicemen in the Gulf, AT&T Co has announced up a free one-way facsimile connection for family and friends of US military personnel involved in Operation Desert Shield: Desert Fax, proposed by the Californian Senator, Alan Cranston as a morale-boosting effort, will operate from AT&T’s 400 US phone centres, but its duration will partly depend on the take-up rate and the ensuing cost.
