AT&T BRINGS IN COMPLAINT AGAINST THE GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTATION

The US Federal Government is investigating a complaint by AT&T Co against the General Services Administration in which Ma Bell claims that in five competitive tenders for telephone exchanges for the government, four contracts were awarded – one each to BellSouth, Bell Atlantic, US West and Pacific Telesis under suspicious circumstances: it is alleged that the competitors were given details of AT&T’s bid in return for non-cash gratuities or promises of jobs.
