The line up includes Northrop Grumman, EDS, SRA, GTSI, Cingular Wireless and Global Crossing. AT&T plans to announce a roster of small and medium-sized vendors on the team at a later date.
Networx replaces the earlier FTS2001 program as the common, cross-agency procurement architecture, according to AT&T spokesman Jim McGann. The new program includes two separate contracts – Networx Universal, which includes a comprehensive set of global network and continuity services, and Networx Enterprise, a narrower contract for either wireless or IP services that covers a smaller geographic region.
Together the contracts are very broad in scope, including integration, wireless services, telecommunications, managed hosting, network duties, voice and video data applications, e-government, and other IT services, McGann said.
AT&T is the first company to announce a team for the Networx project, McGann said. Bids for both contracts are due in early September.
The current FTS2001 contracts are held by MCI and Sprint.
