AT&T Microelectronics Inc, Berkeley Heights, New Jersey says that designers of electronic systems using field-programmable gate arrays can now implement their systems in the AT&T Microelectronics ATT3000 Series field-programmable gate array technology, FPGA, using design synthesis software from Synopsys Inc and the FPGA library: AT&T Microelectronics; ATT3000 series has toggle rates ranging from 70MHz to 125MHz and from 2,000 to 9,000 gate-equivalents in size; the Design Compiler tool of Synopsys enables logic to be realised in the form of electronic circuitry, the design of which is transferred to memory residing on ATT3000 chips; the format of the logic design in the Design Compiler tool enables initial chip-design work to be carried into other design tools serving other application-specific technologies; the FPGA library will be available from AT&T Microelectronics for use with Synopsys’ synthesis tool in May this year.
