AT&T Corp is forming a joint venture with the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co to operate an international and local phone network in the Subic development area north of Manila: each company will own 40% of Subic Telecommunications Co, with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority owning the rest; the new company has $19m in authorised capital, of which $9.5m is paid-up.
