AT&T AND PHILIPS TELECOMMUNICATIONS TO CHANGE NAME

By CBR Staff Writer

Now that AT&T Co is running the show at its AT&T & Philips Telecommunications NV joint venture, with 60% of the shares, it wants to change the name of the parent to AT&T Network Systems International BV, and the operating companies to APT and the country name – APT Italie SpA, APT Schweiz AG and such – except in the UK, where it couldn’t register the APT name and had to settle for AT&T Network Systems UK Ltd; APT Espana SA is a joint venture with Amper SA, the rest are wholly owned by the Dutch parent.
