Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette analyst Frederick Moran says that he evaluates the deal between AT&T Co and McCaw Cellular Communications Inc at about $230 per head of population in McCaw’s service areas, which is well above the estimated $140 to $150 per pop that Sprint Corp proposes to pay in its planned $2,800m acquisition of Centel Corp.
