AT&T ADDS SUB-MICRON DSP32C

AT&T Co followed up announcement of that PXM 900 multiprocessor image processing system (CI No 734) with details of the enhanced version of the signal processor used in it, which comes with the industry’s first optimising C compiler for a signal processor to simplify programming. In 0.9 micron double-layer CMOS, the WE DSP32C has 80nS instruction cycle, and is claimed to execute 25m floating point operations per second, with all instructions completed in a single cycle.
