French IT services company Atos Origin has reported a 9.1% decline in revenue to E1.4 billion ($1.78 billion) for the fourth quarter 2008, compared to E1.54 billion ($1.96 billion) in the year-ago quarter.
The company said consulting revenue decreased 5.8% to E87m ($111.2m), systems integration revenue fell 9.2% to E565m ($722.2m), and managed operations revenue declined 9.4% to E755m ($965.1m).
Geographically, France revenue fell 12.2% to E424m ($541.9m), while UK revenue fell 7.7% to E234m ($299.1m). Netherlands revenue fell 3% to E265m ($338.7m), while Germany and Central Europe revenue grew marginally to E163m ($208.3m). Rest of EMEA revenue fell 22.5% to E223m ($285m), Americas revenue grew 6.8% to E52m ($66.4m), and Asia Pacific revenue grew 16.2% to E45m ($57.5m).
For the fiscal year, the company reported a 4% decline in revenue to E5.62 billion ($7.18 billion) from E5.85 billion ($7.47 billion) last year. It said that on an organic basis, this represents growth of 5.6%.
During the quarter the company appointed Thierry Breton as the new chief executive and chairman of the board, replacing Philippe Germond. It also adopted a single managing board from the previous structure of a managing board and a supervisory board.
