Atos’ Q1 positive as UK outperforms other markets

BPO deal drives UK performance as firm reports growth in cloud and big data income.

By Joao Lima

Service provider Atos‘ Q1 2015 revenues reached to €2,427m in up 0.2% from €2,422m Q1 2014 .

The company said the orders were €2,198m up 31.5% year-on-year.

Atos registered an organic increase in Managed Services (1.2%) and Big data & Cybersecurity (4.9%).

Consulting & Systems Integration was down 2.4%, from €807m last year to €788m.

Growth in Managed Services was led by the United Kingdom benefiting from major BPO contracts and from the ramp-up of new Managed Services contracts, mostly in the public sector, the firm explained.

From Atos’ six business units, only the UK (15.3%) and Other business Units (1.4%) had an increase in revenue. France, Germany, Benelux and The Nordics, and North America where all negative.

Thierry Breton, Chairman and CEO of Atos, said: "Since the beginning of the year we have seen the outcomes we expected from the strategic moves in 2014 start to materialize. The new sales organisation and the focused investments we made in digital solutions are progressively translating into sales and pipeline increase.
