French IT services company Atos Origin has reported revenue of €2.49bn for the first half of 2010, representing an organic variation of -4.6% in line with the full year expectations.

The company’s total order entries for the first half of 2010 were €2.84bn. The book to bill ratio was 114%, above the level of 112% reached in the first half of 2009.

For the first half of 2010, the Managed Services segment revenue reached €903m representing 36% of the group. The Systems Integration revenue declined by 11% to €902m, High Tech Transactional Services (HTTS) revenue increased by 2% to €499m, while the consulting revenue and medical BPO revenue reached €110m and €80m, respectively.

Geographically in H1 2010, revenues from Atos Worldline and France remained almost flat at €420m and €573m, respectively, while the revenues from Benelux, the UK, Germany Central Europe / EMA dropped by 11.2%, 3.6 %, and 16.3%, respectively.

Thierry Breton, chairman and CEO of Atos Origin, said: "In the first half of 2010, the Group succeeded in raising its operating margin by 110 basis points compared to the first half of 2009, while limiting the revenue variation to -4.6%.

"These results allow the Group to confirm its annual guidance and show that Atos Origin is on track to improve its operating margin by at least +250 basis points between 2008 and 2011."

Looking ahead, the company aims to increase its operating margin by +50 to +100 basis points in 2010. The group expects revenue to slightly decrease in 2010, due to Arcandor bankruptcy.
