NeXTstep applications developer Athena Design Inc, Boston, Massachusetts has converted its NeXT-based real time spreadsheet to run under SunSoft Inc’s Solaris. The Mesa spreadsheet includes direct access to Sybase databases for import and export of information. Support for Oracle and other SQL-based relational databases are available as an additional options, the firm says. Mesa includes sequential data capabilities; formula inheritance, where a formula can be shared by many cells while being maintained in a single place; and Mscript, a custom scripting language. Mesa for Solaris is $200.
